I just wanted to introduce myself a bit and tell you a little bit about what you can expect from this blog and website as a whole. I have been a freelance illustrator and instructor for almost 5 years now. I have worked on comic anthology stories, pitches, cartooning, as well as instructed classes on comic art and beginning figure drawing. If you want a more in depth scope of what I have done, check out my CV here, you know you want to.
My goal for this website is to collect everything I love thats art related. You will find anything of mine from sketches, to studies as well as finished comic book work. For the blog I hope to take you along for the ride, as I seek to build my career. There will certainly be ups and downs, but I’m not afraid to bare it all, to show everyone that its simply a part of the process to doing what you love for a living.
As I mentioned I have done a lot of comic work, and plan on using the blog to share inspiration, tutorials, and tools of the trade I find useful. I am making a huge effort to advance as an artist and have been spending my spare time working to better my hand in charcoal for figurative art, and I will taking the leap of faith into painting! I want to share the process as I stumble through the world of color, and hope we can all share in our adventure to become better artists. If you’re not an artist, but love love art, I encourage you to come along as well. Hopefully, it will give you more insight into what it takes for your favorite artists to create the work you love so much.
I also plan to share some of the non-art related things I am into. For instance, I love hockey, (go Tampa Bay Lightning!), I practice progressive calisthenics and healthy eating, and I am a die hard bourbon drinker! And of course I am in love with all things art! If any of this interests you, lets chat and get to know each other more. This will be exciting for us all, and who says we have to make this long journey alone.
I want to know what you like, enjoy, or would even like to see from this blog, and myself. Leave a comment below, or shoot me an email at, email@example.com.
Oh, and don’t forget to share with your friends, the more the merrier!
All the best, and one love.
